W.A.S.A say what!?!?..-water woes

I cannot believe I took this long to write this blog, especially about this issue because it's one that's affecting everyone currently. WATER. Anybody have lots of it? Scratch that, does anyone have enough? Or is everyone pretty much in the same 'missing the water since our tanks have so run dry' boat as I am?

In the paper today (the Express newspaper for those that like specifics) there was a story about the fact that Trinidad and Tobago is currently experiencing a drought. Excuse me? A drought u say? As in "an extended period of months or years when a region notes a deficiency in its water supply"? (Wikipedia) OHHHHHH! I understand you now, so essentially we're in a whole lot of trouble!

No! The big guys say not to worry about the lack of water, we should be okay. The boss man in W.A.S.A said 'we should be ok till the end of May'. So many things are wrong with that statement.
Firstly- SHOULD. Did this man just use a uncertain word to describe the fate of the country's access to water as we know it? I DOUBT.
Secondly- Let me ask something- what is going to happen in this place when May DONE?! Do I look forward to another statement telling me to keep calm because we'll be cool till June ends? This 'take it one month at a time' attitude is not working.

The officials are telling the public that W.A.S.A is banking on a 'typical rainy season' to supply the current deficiency in water. This comforts me greatly because I too am also heavily reliant and confident in the 'typical' weather conditions as of late. The earthquakes left, right, center and all over and the smoldering hot sun which has temperatures at all kind of highs like 36 degrees on a daily basis.
You must be picking up the sarcasm here by now.
NOTHING about the weather lately is normal, so Mr W.A.S.A man why are you leaving the nation's well being on a 'gestimation' based on the shaky weather? Not smart at all.

Hear the greatest part; the government and other officials are PLANNING to build 3 desalination plants (a desalination plant is one that takes salt water and turns it into drinking water) and also to purchase 8 portable water treatment plants. By now I am sure that the entire country is no longer fooled as to the real meaning of the word 'plan' when used by a government official. It's this: 'plan'- as in to say we are going to do this, but in reality we will construct a huge stadium or a performance art center which will distract all of you stupid people. <<<>

As a citizen, I am FULLY allowed to voice my opinion about this, and it is this citizen's opinion that the government is doing utter and total MESS. All along this country has been going through the motions of 'dry season/wet season'; so why are we now planning to put measures in place to prevent drastic things from happening? Because let me tell you government people- the drastic things going on long time. People's yards not green anymore- they're BROWN. W.A.S.A has 'police' patrolling and they cracking down harder on people using water unnecessarily than the ACTUAL police doing with the criminals. Car washes going out of business, 'fuss' the water situation bad bad. So don't tell me that you all are NOW trying to throw things together- slackness.

Also, PLEASE don't tell me we can't have the desal plants and the portable water plans because they're expensive. Do not even come at me with that word. We need the water, so it is not money wasted. If you're telling me that essential water conservation facilities are wasting government and national money: then to that I ask-
So the Summit, Water Taxis, the mysterious church that just drop from the sky one day in Guapo, the stadiums that going up everywhere as if its KFC, and the Performance Arts center (aka the arc we all going to end up on once 2012 hit) were CHEAP? They sell those things at the $10 store now government?
It is largely a rhetorical question; so no answer is required.

Mr PM, you done bad. Unless there's a hidden supply that only you have access to and you keeping mum about it- the drought that all of us are going through will hit you eventually too. I think you said this to us once, TIGHTEN YUH BELT! Stop wasting money where it could be spent on things that are needed- smarten up! Because I'm telling you Patos (everybody else is calling him that so why can't I? LOL); if things are this bad regarding crime in your sweet T&T where people are getting murdered for no reason, IMAGINE what is going to happen when a precious and vital resource like water becomes more scarce. TROUBLE.

I'm most upset over this current event, and I hope that it gets resolved soon. To my readers I say pray for rain yes! Let's hope that the rainy season brings with it the same intensity in rain/water as we're seeing with the heat in the dry season. I realize that that hope is a scary thing for those who live in areas prone to flooding, but at this point, we need the water bad bad.

Pray too for a change in heart (and quite frankly common sense) of the people that run our government, because it doesn't seem that the best interests of the nation is getting taken care of. Or if you want pray for a total change in government! :)

Stay blessed and hydrated everybody!

Wise-dom installment (#1)

"Sometimes, when it seems that the world is against you, it is tempting to side with the world" Brick Lane by Monica Ali
This is true; but to that I add- Hold your head up high, and walk ahead to your unknown future, for the pain is in the broken past, but the future is yours to build.

When life hands you one thing; don't think that it's the end all and be all. From lemons we get lemonade. As corny as it will sound, sometimes the closed door to our faces alerts us to an open window, or to doors and windows that were open all the while but we didn't care about those. Amidst the fall out, I’m heading back to the open doors I left behind.

Life goes on. You hurt, you lose, you confuse, you become confused, and you move on; move FORWARD. Looking back just makes things worst don't dwell. Dwelling festers the wound, and from that we never find the cure. Don't shun your scars from past hurts; they make us who we are.

For all those you've hurt, ask forgiveness.
For all those that have hurt you, give forgiveness.

'An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind'- Ghandi. Speak on that!

Lol. If you've lost something, someone that you thought was concrete, learn from it. Strengthen your foundations with the people and things that do matter and are worth your time and energy.
Remember the ones you lost, forget the past hurts, disappointments and frustrations.
Cherish the ones you still have; appreciate the days, months years and precious moments you have with them.
Anticipate the ones that will come into your life in the future; the lessons to be learnt, taught and the impact to be made on both your life and theirs from just knowing.

Sometimes we forget who we are, because we are torn between what we were, what we don't wand want to be and what we hope to become.... settle the storm of anticipations, fear, regret and uncertainty and just accept and improve on who you are now... if some people don't like you for you are, and repel you I bet you there are others standing behind you loving you just the way you are.
